LENA is a fierce and unstoppable selector from Rotterdam bringing all-new style to hard techno. Her electrifying sets are built on high-octane drums, explosive synths and strobe-lit rave intensity. She likes to tease and please her crowd with colourful psytrance, pitch-black beats and industrial moods that always make an unforgettable impact in the club. All this has made her one of the most exciting new names in the scene.

This tour de force only emerged in 2019, but LENA's skills have already stood her apart and seen her quickly rise to prominence across the Netherlands and beyond. She has left her mark at cult raves like Decibel Outdoor, Free Your Mind, Basis in Utrecht, Club Hard in Antwerp and Sisyphos in Berlin amongst many more. "I like to experiment with energy," she says, "I want to elicit big reactions from the crowd, incorporate surprises and adjust my sounds to fit the vibe."

As LENA's love for techno has quickly intensified, the lure of production has proven too much to resist. her creativity in the booth has carried over to the studio where she is now crafting exactly the sort of irresistible, strobe-lit tracks she wants to play in her sets. "My aim is to combine hard groove with hard techno kicks, arresting arrangements with stark sound designs and make something that is totally my own." So far it's worked: her first ever release 'Dance, Cocaine, LSD, XTC' hit Number 4 on the Beatport Top 100 and more have followed: the firing Simulation EP on Kollektive Recordings is alive with distorted low ends, dystopian vocals and brain-frying synths that make for a thrilling ride to the heart of the rave.

LENA has always been drawn to the harder, faster, darker end of the spectrum. Her ability to find nuance in those sound worlds and to explore the emotional and textural contrasts is second to none. Though she dreamt of being a DJ since a young age, LENA always thought it would be too hard to achieve in the male-dominated world of dance. With skills, tastes and selections like hers, though, there will always be a way to shine. Although her sound might be dark, LENA's future is bright.
